How Do I Clean & Remove Cat Feline Hairball Stains From Carpet?
August 27, 2020
Oh, the joys of cat ownership! (Although the cat in question might object that it’s more a case of ‘human ownership’ #felinism). Purrs and cuddles and squinty-eyed loving looks are lovely, but they don’t quite eliminate the irritation of finding a conveniently-situated furball coughed up on your carpet…. And the resulting stain duly deposited below.
At BCS, we’ve been mitigating the unadvertised horrors of feline ownership for our clients for over thirty years. Here’s the lowdown on how to remove pesky furball stains from carpet:
1 Remove the hairball using a piece of paper towel and discard.
2 Create a solution of one part plain white vinegar and two parts water. Spray liberally over the affected area.
3 Blot dry using clean paper towels.
If after employing this very complicated method you’re still struggling with furball stains, or if the stains are older and seem to be set in the carpet, call BCS today at 801 561 1730. We’ll have your carpet set to rights in a jiffy.
How Do I Clean & Remove Cat Feline Hair From My Sofa Couch?
August 20, 2020
Cats are lovely. If they’re litter-trained, have trimmed claws, a nice disposition, don’t hate all humans and don’t spontaneously claw your face off in a fit of pique. But a big downside to having a feline in the family is, well, FUR. It may be hair-etical (sorry, I couldn’t resist!) to complain about but the hair and excess fluff just gets EVERYWHERE – blankets, couches, carpets, bedding – not to mention frequently up one’s nose (frightfully tickly).
If your sofa is riddled with pokey little kitty hairs that like to attach themselves all over your clothes and you’re at your wit’s end trying to eradicate them, have no fear – BCS is here! Follow our simple strategy for eliminating dog hair from couches in a jiffy:
1 Suck up any clumps of fur with a hand vacuum. It’s much easier to man-handle (or woman-handle, as the case may be #feminism) than a full-size vacuum and will help you easily reach into corners.
2 If your kitty has a favorite spot on the sofa, run a squeegee or damp rubber glove over the surface to collect the fur and then discard the resulting pile of fluff.
3 If there are still stubborn cling-ons, use a sticky lint roller over the surface to remove the last vestiges of feline fluffitude.
4 Consider investing in the dark arts of fur-maintenance (buy a special kitty furbrush). Regular use can remove loose hairs before they have a chance to float off and lie in wait of your nostrils.
If you’re still struggling to get a grip on in-grown hairs (in the couch, that is), give the carpet and fabric-cleaning professionals at BCS a call. We have gotten to grips with feline fluffdom throughout the Salt Lake Valley and beyond, and will have your sofa restored to its former fibers in no time. Call us today at 801 561 1730.
How Do I Clean Dog Canine Drool Saliva Stains From My Carpet?
August 13, 2020
Dogs can be such lovely creatures. They’re cute as puppies, endearing as teenagers and downright heartwarming as loyal adults. Of course, obedience, cuddles and soft brown eyes are all lovely, but they don’t quite eliminate the irritation at finding a nice puddle of doggy drool staining your carpet.
Drool is a bit fiddly to deal with because it is a protein-based stain that may also contain tiny bits of food. At BCS, we’re experts at handling the unadvertised horrors of canine yucky saliva stains from carpet. Here’s our easy and professional 3-step drool attack process:
1 Combine half a cup of hydrogen peroxide (3%) with one teaspoon of ammonia. Apply to the stain with a clean, dry cloth, taking care not to soak the carpet. Be sure to test the solution in an inconspicuous area first.
2 Allow to sit for 30 minutes, then blot with clean paper towels.
3 Apply cool water to the area, then absorb the liquid and dry the area by standing on a thick pad of paper towels.
If after employing these suggestions you’re still struggling with saliva stains, or if the stains are older and seem to be set in the carpet, call BCS today at 801 561 1730. We’ll have your carpet set to rights in a jiffy.
