How Do I Clean & Remove Bird Poop Feces From Carpets?
September 24, 2020
Tweety-pie is adorable with his cooing and chattering, but then he poops. On your carpet. Nice. Before screaming bloody murder and making a dash for the hills, here’s the lowdown on getting that mess up off your carpet.
For birdy poop on a rug or carpet, pick up as much as you can with paper towels, then spray on a solution of one part white vinegar to two parts cool water. Blot and allow to dry. This will disinfect and de-smelly the area.
If there is a stain left, use a carpet spot-treatment to get the last of it up.
If you’re still in dire straits and the above hasn’t quite relieved the situation (pardon the pun!), give the experts at BCS a call at 801 561 1730. Our professionals will have your carpets spick and span in a jiffy!
How Do I Clean & Remove Tortoise Turtle Reptile Pee Urine From Carpets?
September 17, 2020
Turtles are adorable with their ancient, wise little faces and slow shuffle. Until their little leggies can’t get them to the turtle bathroom in time and they pee on your carpet. Nice. Before screaming bloody murder and making a dash for the hills, here’s the lowdown on getting that mess up off your carpet.
Plan A
1 Blot (never rub – this just pushes it in further) to absorb as much of the liquid as possible
2 Cover the area with a generous sprinkling of baking soda. Baking soda (bicarbonate of soda is its fancy name) is a miracle product, and it’s worth investing in a Costco-sized crate of the stuff for multiple stain-related emergencies.
3 Allow the baking soda to sit on the stain for at least an hour before vacuuming it up.
Plan B
If you’re still left with more reptilian DNA on your carpet than you’d like, mix together a half cup of hydrogen peroxide (3 percent) and one teaspoon of ammonia (use a clothes peg for your nose); apply to the affected area with a rag, leave it to do its thing for thirty minutes, then blot dry.
Plan C
For a final rescue remedy, saturate the area with club soda (the fizzy will help loosen and lift any leftover discoloration) and blot dry again.
If you’re still in dire straits and the above hasn’t quite rescued you from turtle tinkle, give the experts at BCS a call at 801 561 1730. Our professionals will have your carpets spick and span in a jiffy!

How Do I Clean Dog Hair From My Sofa Couch?
September 3, 2020
Dogs are lovely. If they’re trained well, have a nice disposition, don’t drool too much and don’t bite you. But a big downside to canine cohabitation is, well, all that FUR. It may be hair-etical to complain about but that doggone hair just gets EVERYWHERE – blankets, couches, carpets, bedding – not to mention frequently up one’s nose (very tickly).
If your sofa is riddled with pokey little dog hairs and you’re at your wit’s end trying to eradicate them, have no fear – BCS is here! Follow our simple strategy for eliminating dog hair from couches in a jiffy:
1 Suck up any clumps of fur with a hand vacuum. It’s much easier to man-handle (or woman-handle, as the case may be #feminism) than a full-size vacuum and will help you easily reach into corners.
2 If your dog has a favorite spot on the sofa, run a squeegee or damp rubber glove over the surface to collect the fur and then discard the resulting pile of fluff.
3 If there are still stubborn cling-ons, use a sticky lint roller over the surface to remove the last vestiges of caninehood.
4 Consider training Fido in the dark arts of self-fur-maintenance (invest in a doggy hairbrush).
If you’re still struggling to get a grip on in-grown hairs (in the couch, that is), give the professionals at BCS a call. We have gotten to grips with canine fluffdom throughout the Salt Lake Valley and beyond, and will have your sofa restored to its former fibers in no time. Call us today at 801 561 1730.
